It's September! Hopefully you are off to a good start to the school year and getting into the swing of your new fall schedule. Don't forget to save some time to spend with Jesus each day. You'll never regret it!

THIS MONTH'S SCRIPTURE:

September:

John 16:33

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

FAMILY CRAFT

September 23rd will usher in the autumnal equinox - which is just a science way of saying we officially start FALL this month!

What better way to kick off the fall season than with a craft that screams fall?

You'll need the following supplies and all the directions can be found HERE.

Supplies:

  • Shaving Cream

  • White Card Stock

  • Piece of cardboard

  • Paint

  • Scissors

  • Disposable Aluminum Foil Pan

  • Leaf Templates

FAMILY TIME

Family Game Time:

Pine Cone Bocce Ball

Materials:

*Acorns

*Pinecones

*(optional) Paint

If you've ever played bocce ball, then you already know what's up with this game. Get outside and play even if you don't have a bocce set. Just use some of the fall nature God gave us!

It makes it easier if you have different color cones for each team. Paint the pine cones or decorate them with sparkle glue to know which ones belong to each group.

How to play:

  1.  One team or player tosses the marker - the acorn - and the game is all setup!

  2. The teams throw their pine cones, trying to get as close to the marker as possible.

  3. The team closest to the marker gets the points for that round - one point for each of their pinecones that are closest to the marker than the other team.

  4. Play until one team reaches 10 points.

Family Kitchen Time:

Apple Nachos!

**THE ADULT IN THE FAMILY SHOULD SLICE THE APPLES BEFORE BEGINNING**

Nachos are good - but to kick off fall, why not try some APPLE Nachos??

  • Apple

  • Peanut Butter

  • Chopped Chocolate or Chocolate Morsels

  • Optional Toppings (what do you like to eat on your apples?)

Yep, a sweet treat that is fun to make and messy to eat. Find the step by step instructions HERE.
